Paramount Plus Not Working on Hisense TV

There’s nothing as disappointing as turning on your TV, ready to watch your favorite movie or TV show, only to discover the streaming app isn’t working. However, occasionally Paramount Plus may go down on your Hisense TV, leaving you frustrated and annoyed.

Paramount Plus may not be working on your Hisense TV for one of the following reasons: the app needs to be updated, the TV’s memory bank has been overloaded, the router isn’t providing a good internet connection, or the TV needs an update.

Today we’ll dive into these common problems and then look at some solutions. Let’s get started.

Why Paramount Plus isn’t Working on Your Hisense TV

Hisense TV Why Paramount Plus Not Working

Paramount Plus, known for its huge selection of movies and shows, is not an app you want to go down. But like anything else, it fails sometimes. Here are some common reasons why the app may have gone out.

Android devices, including Hisense TVs, need regular updates to function normally. If Paramount Plus suddenly develops an issue, you may want to look at some of your other apps to see how they function.

In addition, the app needs to have regular updates as well. If the app isn’t regularly updated, it can get bugs and viruses and consequently won’t work very well.

Another common problem is that the TV’s memory bank, or cache, has become overloaded. This can also happen with individual apps, so it’s best to check both.

Finally, your internet connection itself can be a problem. If this isn’t the only app not loading, this may be even more likely.

Let’s look at each of these problems in a little more depth and then discuss some solutions.

Your Hisense TV Needs an Update

Hisense TVs, especially newer versions, must be updated regularly to continue functioning well. If the TV has begun to run slow or become sluggish when opening apps or streaming video, it may be because it needs an update.

You should update your Hisense TV at least once every few months. Because these TVs are smart TVs, they often need to go through some of the same updates our smartphones and computers go through. The updates help everything continue to run smoothly and quickly.

The Paramount Plus App Needs to Be Updated

In addition to the TV needing to be updated regularly, your Paramount app needs to be updated. Over time, all apps develop bugs. This can cause many streaming issues, but an update will almost always fix this.

On top of that, new versions of the apps are always coming out. As manufacturers make updated app versions, older versions often won’t work. You may find that shows and movies aren’t loading as well as they once did. The app may eventually stop loading altogether.

The TV’s Memory Bank is Full

Occasionally the memory bank on the TV will become overloaded. This is because TVs, like all of our electronics, are constantly trying to hold on to a ton of information at one time.

Every app you open, show you watch, and browsing you do with your TV is stored in the TV’s internet memory. All of these things are stored inside what is known as the TV’s cache. The cache stores information about your actions so that pages and apps load more quickly.

Here’s a quick overview of how to clear the cache for your Hisense TV.

The Paramount Plus app also has a cache where information about what you’ve watched or browsed for is stored. This also needs to be cleared on occasion. If it’s left for too long, it can cause the app to stop loading.

You Have Problems With the Internet Router

Having a good internet connection is a tricky business sometimes. Depending on where you have the router placed in relation to your TV, it may get a great connection or go in and out frequently.

If the TV is hooked up to WiFi rather than a wired connection, it’s more likely that a bad connection is causing problems with your Paramount Plus app. This is equally likely if the router is placed farther away from your TV.

However, if it’s a problem specific to the internet, you should notice difficulties with more than just the Paramount Plus app. In this case, you would expect that no apps are loading or they are all loading sporadically.

Now that we’ve discussed why your Paramount Plus app may not work on your TV, let’s look at some solutions.

1. Update Your Hisense TV and Paramount Plus

As I mentioned, your TV needs to be regularly updated. The good news is updating a Hisense TV is relatively simple, and it will usually fix problems with apps not loading.

Updating the TV allows it to get rid of the majority of the bugs that it may have gotten over time. It allows it to operate in the current Android operating system, which means it will be significantly faster afterward.

Updating your Paramount Plus app is also necessary. The easiest way to update your app is to uninstall and reinstall it.

2. Move the Router or Set Up a Wired Connection

We talked about how a too far-away router can cause problems with all your apps, including the Paramount app. If your TV is connected to WiFi, look at where your router is.

If, for example, the TV is in the living room, but the router is in a bedroom on the other side of the house, you may notice that the connection is going in and out frequently.

There are three options to fix this.

  • Get a WiFi extender. These are useful for just getting your signal to stretch a bit farther.
  • Move the router closer to the TV. This may or may not be possible, depending on how your house is set up.
  • Set up a wired connection. Wired connections always work better for streaming, providing a direct line to the internet without interference.

3. Power Cycle Your TV

Power cycling is nearly always the answer when nothing else is working. Power cycling essentially does a hard reset on your TV without losing any of your information like you would in a reset to factory defaults.

This will also clear out the memory bank of the TV.

To power-cycle the TV, you’ll simply want to unplug it for between thirty and sixty seconds before plugging it back in. Unplugging it for longer is better because it will allow the residual power to drain. When you reboot your TV, it should be working significantly better.

Final Thoughts

If Paramount Plus isn’t working on your Hisense TV is most commonly due to a problem with the app or TV needing to be updated. Frequently this is just forgotten. It may also be due to an issue with the internet itself.
